GrooveCade is a free live social music platform where people meet in stages, listen together, take DJ turns, chat, collect music in crates and show up through avatars.
WHY IT EXISTS
Why GrooveCade exists
The plug.dj era proved that listening online could feel less like pressing play and more like walking into a room. You recognised regulars, waited for your turn, discovered songs because somebody cared enough to queue them, and stayed longer because the people mattered as much as the playlist.
GrooveCade rebuilds that feeling for today without trying to freeze the old internet in amber. The foundation is still shared listening, but the experience now has a stronger arcade layer: stages feel like places, crates act like your musical loadout, avatars give your account visible progression, and hosts have practical controls for running a healthy room.

As a guest
Open Explore, choose a live stage and you are listening almost immediately. You can see what is playing, watch the room presence, get a feel for the genre and move between public stages without creating an account first. Guest mode is for getting the vibe before committing.

As a registered DJ
Sign in with Discord, build a crate from YouTube and SoundCloud tracks, pick an avatar and join a stage that has an open DJ queue. When your turn arrives, your selected track becomes part of the room's shared session. You can chat, save finds, follow people and return with a better crate next time.

Stages are places
Each stage has its own host, sound, artwork, crowd, rules and atmosphere instead of feeling like another anonymous player window.
Crates are your loadout
Save tracks into collections you can prepare before a session and pull from when your DJ turn comes up.
Your avatar grows with you
Avatar choice, unlocks and progression make your presence feel persistent across sessions without turning GrooveCade into a generic virtual world.
Hosts get real tools
Queue controls, stage settings, reports, moderation roles and appeals help communities run rooms without relying on chaos or manual workarounds.

Is GrooveCade free?
Yes. GrooveCade is free to use. Optional support helps with hosting and development but does not buy queue priority, moderation power or premium access.
Does it work with YouTube and SoundCloud?
Yes. GrooveCade currently uses supported YouTube and SoundCloud links for playback and crate building.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The interface is designed to work across desktop and mobile browsers, with mobile layouts built to feel closer to an app than a squeezed desktop page.
How is moderation handled?
Hosts have stage tools, users can report problems, and moderation decisions can be appealed through GrooveCade's appeals flow.
